Masters Degree and Graduate Schools

Master's Degrees

If you have finished your Bachelor's Degree, but want to pursue further study in a particular area for professional (or personal) reasons, a Master's Degree is the next in the progression.

A Master's Degree is a postgraduate academic degree that requires the completion of a Bachelor Degree program. It generally takes one to three years of full-time graduate school, with all work solely concentrated in that particular field of study, and thus needs to be declared prior to entry.

Although there are many types of Master's Degrees, the most common ones include:

  • Master of the Arts (M.A.)
  • Master of Science (M.S.)
  • Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.)

Once a Masters program is complete, you can then move on to doctoral studies, or start working. You'll be pleased to hear that the average income of Master's Degree earners is 25% more than those who only have their Bachelor's Degree.
